Performer

Overview

Seeking a fiercely candid 45+ year old performer to portray a spirited STORYTELLER who invites an audience-of-one into their “parlor” for a profoundly intimate, personalized experience.

Each individualized “Performance/Reading” lasts ~30 minutes in a themed space within a residential building in Hells Kitchen, NYC. You are visited by the participant, a STRANGER, who has come for a “reading” not of tarot or palms, but of story. YOU are responsible for sparking conversation and guiding their experience through playful ritual before reciting the relevant pre-scripted short story.

While the experience is structured you must have sharp improv instincts as your scene partner’s interactions + offerings will never be the same twice. Must be comfortable with close contact. Past experience in immersive theatre / object-theatre / tarot helpful, but not required.

This project is independently produced by the artists and is non-union.
Paid Rehearsal Fee then $100 to $150 per “Performance/Reading” day.
