Job Description

Talwar Gallery is seeking a Gallery Associate to join its New York team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in contemporary art, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational abilities and interest in developing relationships with collectors and institutions where discretion is necessary-

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective collectors, advisors & institutions
Assist with client outreach, correspondence, follow-up, and sales-related communications
Assist with correspondence, artwork descriptions, exhibition materials, and other written content
Research Collectors & Institutions for outreach and gallery initiatives
Work closely with the gallery team on a range of projects and responsibilities as required

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of professional experience working in a Gallery, Art Advisory or related field.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable initiating outreach and building relationships
Strong interest in contemporary art, familiarity with South Asian art desirable
Previous experience with art sales, client relations, or business development is a plus, but not required
Bachelor’s degree in Art History or a related field is required, Masters preferred
